I've got a new litle friend

I was really missing Rhea but a new friend turned up a week or so later. She is tiny but stands on her back legs to play. She is a staffy cross and apparently they haven't got such a good press as us greys. She is nice though except when she steals my bones. I am getting so brave now though - I warn other dogs if they try and take my things.
I don't like this weather - I'm a poor fragile girl who can't possibly walk in yucky mud!

My best friend has been taken away..

Rhea found a new home today. Luckily this morning we had lots of time for a good play. She has gone to live with a dobie boy who was very lonely. But I'm lonely now! I will miss her very much. She played with me so much but she did sometimes sit on me. Mum says we might have another friend to stay sometime which will be nice. Still got the 2 old grumps to play with and there is more bed space... I'll just have to play tug with Muffy instead which she will like sometimes but not always especially early in the morning. I jumped in the crate in the van because I thought I was going somewhere interesting but Rhea went instead.

Such a helpful girl

Mum is just so pleased with me at the moment because I have learned to open the post. It was a book about the multiple dog household but mum says she should have got one about just one dog instead. Don't know what she meant. I have been having such fun with my new friend Rhea - we play tug with our toys and bounce about the place particularly last thing at night and before mum gets up in the morning. Mum was late up today because I decided to sleep in the comfy beds downstairs so didn't tell her it was 7 o'clock. Muffy still isn't happy with Rhea so she won't be staying forever which I am sad about. But we might get another friend for a holiday one day.
My family love me very much and keep telling me I bring joy to their lives.

We've got a lodger

Well I don't quite know what she is - she has got a squashed nose and really is too stocky, not at all elegant like me.
She is living with us as a foster, she is apparently a rottie x. Seems like a nice girl but Muffy isn't keen and she gets cross with me if I play with her. I wouldn't mind if she stays for ages but Muffy hopes she goes soon. She might move in with us if it all settles but otherwise she will get her own nice new home like we did. She pulls mum's arm because she doesn't know how to walk properly - mum walks us three on one arm and her on the other! Another good reason for getting us lovely greyhounds - we usually walk so nicely.

p.s. I'm still up to mischief but mum doesn't seem to notice so much at the moment and she can't even be sure it's me.

Sore leg and lost collar

I have been getting lots of deserved sympathy for my back leg which is a bit sore. Can't think why - it just happened but mum says it was me running in the field, silly woman. I still manage my walks though.
Also lost my collar in the field somehow. Mum wasn't keen on finding it because I had rolled in fox poo. But luckily for her when we eventually found it there was only an inch of collar on the tags - chewed by the local foxes. But my new collar is lovely and my special tags are back on.

Christmas was fun

Well that was an interesting time. All that food spare especially turkey skin and giblets. We didn't even get our stockings until a few days after because we had no room.
I'm still trying to get mum and dad up at the weekend, they just don't seem to notice that it is getting up time. Then they go back to bed with a cup of tea.
Wasn't too keen on the recent snow though. I haven't got thick fur and I don't really like my coat.
What is worse I had to wear a coat at night because the boiler broke down. Ollie wore one too but Millie has enough fur. It was very cold weather - best to stay tucked up in bed.

I've been a busy girl......

I have been having such fun. I sneaked into the living room when mum's back was turned and the door wasn't quite shut and found my new toys. Well they have been taken away so maybe they were meant for Christmas. 3 rolls of paper I managed to get out of the bag and had a good old chew on each before I was found. The door is locked now with a key. Apparently it will be decorated some time when all the plastering is finished.
I'm still helping with the recycling - when I can I shred the cardboard to help and yesterday I found a bag full of milk bottles and had such good fun. I thought mum might be a bit cross at the mess but she was quite pleased I played with those toys today and not anything else.
There was a huge lot of shopping delivered at the weekend and I am looking forward to sharing that.
We've got some nice new beds - the others curl up nicely but I must have a good stretch so they are getting a bit squashed.
It is the school holidays so I have to get mum up because she forgets for some reason.
